If you’re not convinced that gun free zones are the most dangerous places on Earth, then read on. On September 2, 2024 (Labor Day), a maniac entered a commuter train in the Chicago area at approximately 5:27 AM. The killer, whose name is being protected for his or her own privacy, shot and killed four people who were asleep on the train that morning. This, according to the Forest Park Police Dept.
The killing appears to have had no motive, and Forest Park Deputy Chief Chris Chin said, “This appears to be an isolated incident on this unfortunate day.”
The killing took place on two different train cars, and all four victims were passengers. The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) called the shooting a “heinous and egregious act of violence.”
The Democrat-run city of Chicago appears to be intent on perpetuating this type of violence on Chicago Residents. The Legislature continues to keep good people unarmed and helpless, even though Chicago is one of the most violent cities in America, and there is plenty of reason for people to carry a firearm for self-defense.
Obtaining a firearm carry permit in the city of Chicago is theoretically possible but practically impossible due to the very stringent and complicated permitting process. A list of requirements can be found in my article titled, “Is Chicago of Victim/Predator Society Experiment?” For those who choose to follow the law and obey the unconstitutional gun restrictions Chicago has in place, they are subjected to the following dangerous gun free zones.
- Schools, including preschools, primary and secondary schools
- Public parks, including state or municipal parks, playgrounds, and athletic facilities.
- Government buildings, including any building under the control of a government entity.
- Public transit, including buses, trains, and all forms of public transportation.
- Bars and restaurants, including establishments where alcohol sales account for more than 50% of gross receipts.
- Hospitals, nursing homes, and mental health facilities, including any supporting grounds or adjacent properties.
- Courthouses, including state or federal buildings, where judicial proceedings occur.
- Public gatherings, including permitted events, such as festivals, demonstrations, or parades.
- Casinos and racetracks, including any licensed gaming establishment.
- Stadiums and arenas, including major sporting and entertainment venues.
The suspect in this latest act of Chicago violence was apprehended and taken into custody, but that doesn’t bring back the lives lost due to dangerous left-wing gun policies. Chicago has clearly set its residents up for failure by making it not only nearly impossible to obtain a permit to carry a gun within city limits but also deeming most of the city a gun free zone.
Even if you do have the legal ability to carry in Chicago, almost anywhere you would go throughout the city is off-limits, except for the bad guys because they pay no attention to the gun laws. At what point do Chicago residents demand their 2nd Amendment rights, and how will the first State to eliminate cash bail respond to this attack?
Democrat Governor JB Pritzker, Democrat Mayor Brandon Johnson, and former Chicago Democrat Mayor Lori Lightfoot should be ashamed of themselves for the dangerous environment they have created and continue to perpetuate for Chicago residents. The Chicago residents who continue voting for politicians who deny them their rights are continuing to put their fellow citizens at risk. The 2nd Amendment applies to everyone. Our Founding Fathers did not declare “the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed, unless you live in the City of Chicago.”
