A “must have” tool if you own an AR15,
Just like I said with the Vise Block, “if you own an AR15, you will at some point in time, need to either tighten or loosen the barrel nut and/or hand rail”. To apply the sufficient amount of torque to the barrel nut, you will need this tool. To use any other tool will only damage your barrel nut; not to mention, scratch the hell out of it. Believe me, there is no way to get around needing this tool if you own an AR15 and Amazaon is the cheapest place you get it.

Didn’t fit my mil-spec castle nut,
The wrench was very solid/sturdy,but it would not fit the mil-spec castle nut on my AR-15. Wish they would have stated that in the description. Needless to say I sent it back for a refund. Hopes this saves someone else the hassle.

Don’t buy it…,
I’m surprised by all of the great reviews of this wrench. Mine arrived quickly, however:
A. Neither of the barrel wrenches fit, I had to spend 10 minutes filing the middle pin to get the wrench to fit a free-float nut. I was able to remove a delta ring nut, but that side of the wrench is way oversized and it bent some of the teeth.
B. I don’t know which ~3/4″ square cutout is for a muzzle device because neither fit my A2 flash hider.
C. If the ” 1/2″ ” square cutout was any larger my 1/2″ torque wrench would spin freely in the hole!!!
I’m an engineer and this tool looks like either a sand casting that used a pattern that’s past its useful life so the dimensions are all out of tolerance, or a noob designed it and forgot to offset everything to account for the rubberized coating.
Save your money and buy another tool if you want to use this for anything more than removing a buffer tube – I have one of those wrenches already which I will be using (instead of this tool) the next time I need to remove a buffer tube.
I was able to open a bottle of beer with the buffer tube hook, so I guess this thing’s not totally useless…
