Secure hold for your CCW,
I use this holster for my Maxpedition Fatboy Versipack to carry a Ruger P95 pistol. It works exactly as advertised. Very secure hold, and I mean some super heavy duty velcro on this thing. It’s adjustable so you can mold the holster around the trigger area of your pistol. Attach it to your pack, and you’re good to go. Take a look at the pics I posted.

Works quite well,
I tend to agree with the opinion that it seems a bit pricey for what you get, but that being said this Maxpedition holster accessory does do its job reasonably well. The hook portion sewn onto this holster does a solid job of attaching itself firmly to the field of loop sewn into the Jumbo Versipack‘s CCW compartment, and the quality of its material reinforcing and stitching is what I’ve come to expect from the company. Fact is, it even works great in my clone UTG Tactical Messenger Bag with its smaller strips of loop material.
It holds my H&K P30 and USP Compact securely, as well as my Sig P229 and Glock 19. It adjusts easily enough to even accommodate those times when I have my Streamlight laser/light combo attached to any one of these pistols, even the USP Compact with its added Picatinny rail adapter. I have little reason to doubt than any ‘compact’ (to my eyes, ‘mid-sized’ seems a more appropriate term) semi-auto will work fine with this holster accessory in any Jumbo Versipack.

Works well enough. Not bad for the money.,
This is a “universal” holster, after all, so it does the job good enough for most firearms, but not as good as a holster dedicated to one particular firearm.
The material and quality of workmanship is very good, and the Velcro holds the holster in place tightly. I carry an XD-45 (5″) in my Jumbo Versipack and it just barely fits. Because the Universal CCW holster doesn’t have any active form of retention for the weapon, the snugness of my Jumbo’s CCW pocket is what actually holds the firearm in place. Still, my XD remains in place and can be drawn easily, with practice. Being modular, the holster can be removed or repositioned to suit your needs, which is always nice.
For those wanting an even nicer (and more expensive) modular holster dedicated to a particular model of firearm, check out the Crossbreed Ohai.
