Excellent Flashlights – VERY BRIGHT!, December 1, 2012

This are excellent little flashlights. Surprisingly, however, they are slightly inferior to the earlier, 200 lumen model. These emit a yellowish hue, whereas the earlier model emitted a white hue. The light output between the two models is almost identical (there is no noticable difference between the 200 and 250 lumen models). This model (250 lumens) is -unfortunately- slightly heavier than the earlier model. Also, this new model does not have the “scallop” design on the headlamp that allows you to rest the flashlight such that it does not roll off a table. Also, the scallop design on the older model allowed some light to shine through when you left the light on when you set it down (headlamp side down), alerting you to the fact that you left it on. This newer model is rounded, so it doesn’t have this added benefit. Despite these shortcomings when compared to its predecessor, it is still an excellent flashlight and therefore is still rated 5 stars. I purchased my 3 pack at Costco for $19. Not sure where the $73 retail price came from. They have always been $19 at Costco, and they are simply resold on eBay and Amazon. All in all, an excellent flashlight that is well made and highly recommended.

I just bought these at Costco for 19.99 for a set of 3 like the other reviewer stated. The light from these little dynamos is outstanding! There are 3 settings high, low and strobe. They are great flashlights for power outages and great to keep one handy in the car. The quality of construction and machining is very good. I am giving these away as stocking stuffers to my family. For the money paid for these you’ll be getting your money’s worth.
