The shelter doesn’t have an enclosed floor. You enter the Bivy from underneath where a good portion of the floor is missing. It will probably protect you from flying insects, but not things that crawl like ants, spiders, snakes, and scorpions. This shelter could have been really nice if it had a complete floor with a top zipper entry. I think Kelty really missed the ball on this one. Unfortunately, the product description on Amazon was not clear on this and I assumed the floor was intact with a zippered top entry. My fault for ordering it without contacting Kelty for a better understanding of the design.

To be fair, the product seems well made and maybe Kelty designed it to be used on top of a bed or in a tent in an environment with a lot of Mosquitos However, I was looking for using it outdoors and on the ground where crawling critters are more of a concern. I’m returning it!!!
