Who is Ron Spomer For 44 years I’ve had the good fortune to photograph and write about my passion – the outdoor life. Wild creatures and wild places have always stirred me – from the first flushing pheasant that frightened me out of my socks in grandpa’s cornfield to the last whitetail that dismissed me with a wag of its tail. In my attempts to connect with this natural wonder, to become an integral part of our ecosystem and capture a bit of its mystery, I’ve photographed, hiked, hunted, birded, and fished across much of this planet. I’ve seen the beauty that everyone should see, survived adventures that everyone should experience. I may not have climbed the highest mountains, canoed the wildest rivers, caught the largest fish or shot the biggest bucks, but I’ve tried. Perhaps you have, too. And that’s the essential thing. Being out there, an active participant in our outdoor world.

COLION NOIR PODCAST | CNP #17 | DR JOHN LOTT EXPOSES MEDIA DISHONESTY ABOUT GOOD GUYS WITH GUNS & MASS SHOOTINGS
Despite mainstream media accounts asserting that heroic individuals putting an end to mass shootings is a statistically exceptional event, research suggests that such instances occur more frequently than people think, says crime researcher Dr. John Lott. According to Lott, the mass shooters frequently indicate in their diaries or manifestos that they want to attract media attention and that they are aware that the more victims they kill, the more attention they will receive. These individuals repeatedly mention going to a location where they know victims can’t protect themselves while leaving comments explaining why they hit the target that they did. They are not naive. They are aware that if individuals have the ability to defend themselves, they won’t be able to murder as many people and won’t garner as much media attention as they would want. TFB Behind The Gun Podcast #86: What is Multispectral Night Vision? Derick w/ PARD
On this week’s episode of TFB’s Behind The Gun Podcast, I’ve brought on Derick with PARD. PARD is a foreign producer of digital and thermal night vision devices that primarily caters to law enforcement and military departments needing observational equipment. However, PARD is also in the business of producing digital night vision, thermal scopes, and multi-spectral scopes that allow hunters across the globe to expand their capabilities beyond the daylight hours of the hunting season. While PARD is quite well known in Europe, today, Derick explains to us why PARD is angling to get into the US digital and thermal night vision market, as well as what their current offerings cover and what some of the basic terminology surrounding these types of devices means when it comes to selecting one for your specific shooting application. Please welcome Derick with PARD to the podcast!
