Dorothy has decreed that “ALL CHICKENS MUST GO” and hence any that do not find new homes are freezer/crockpot bound after the workshop. They all carry the genetics of the Blue Phantom Experiment. They vary in color some look like buffs, some more like old English and some show the blue/black colors really well but all carry the genetics.
They are free, take your pick of them but you’ll need to bring something to carry them in. I realize this will only work for those driving in but thought I would throw it out there anyway. Of course if you have a truly good friend coming who will bring birds to you even though you are not coming, that will be okay too.
You can see the birds in this video below and while the original father (Billy Roy Bob) spurred one too many legs and went into the freezer the old gal that is the mom, grandmom, great grandmom and great great grandmom of every chicken on the property is still here and available too.
I have to say this cross is the broodiest damn thing I have ever seen. We have a couple doze even though dozens were picked off by hawks, drowned themselves etc. this year. About 75% of the flock is roosting in trees and living feral. They are fun to work with but Dorothy has tired of them being on our porch.
