Outstanding Functionally AND Inexpensive,
I have an XD 9 subcompact. The included kydex holster is worthless. This unit from Blackhawk is excellent. I bought the paddle holster only version and love it. The broad surface area of the paddle serves to hold the holster steady, distributes the weight well, keeps the barrel from rotating into the hip and can be taken off without losing your britches. Now for the business end of this – what an absolute brilliant idea the catch is for securely holding the weapon in place, yet releasing as smooth as butter with the touch of my trigger finger. As I draw, my trigger finger is indexed right where it should be – along side the trigger guard. The cant is adjustable to fit your preference. Smoothest draw I have ever felt and yet the weapon is secure. Highly recommend.

Great holster!,
I don’t know where the other reviewer got the notion that this is an awful holster. I have two of them, one for each of my two 1911’s and find them to be excellent. Great retention while running and very easy to learn to draw with my trigger finger correctly extended the way it is suggested when drawing a firearm from a holster.

Comfort and security,
I carry a duty weapon daily. I have multiple holsters for my daily carry to include a shoulder holster, drop leg holster, and a standard hip holster on my duty belt. But this holster is by far the most comfortable I have ever warn. Never mind the security and retention capability of the holster. I own one for both my duty weapon and my privately own weapons.
