Wildlife officials, who first noticed the unusual situation in 2019, were concerned about the elk’s health as its neck swelled during breeding seasons. Eventually, they were able to tranquilize the animal and remove the tire, which unfortunately required cutting off the elk’s antlers.
Thankfully, the elk is now free from the tire and expected to regrow its antlers in the spring, marking a happy end to its long ordeal.
