I went this route because it’s recommended by Arc’teryx. They seem to be more in tune with gore-tex than anyone else. Just like Revivex you spray it on before you throw it in the dryer. I also purchased the cleaning solution which did a great job of getting out all the ground in dirt on the outside / inside of the garment.

The great thing about this product is the smell. Revivex has an unpleasant smell that seems to linger for a while, especially on soft shells. This product is odorless, major + in my book. Its far too early in this process to see how long the DWR finish will last but after about a month of use its like a brand new jacket.

Used on an Arc’teryx Theta 3 layer Gore-Tex XCR jacket and a Arc’teryx2 Gamma softshell.

I treated two jackets with this product. One was a non-Goretex REI rain jacket that I had previously treated with ScotchGuard and the other was an Arcteryx Goretext jacket that was about one year old and never washed. I washed both in my washing machine at whatever setting the Performance Wash instructions recommended. Both came out looking very clean. While still wet, I hung each on a hanger and sprayed them down with the XT Waterproofer. The spray bottle worked well and I was able to fully cover both jackets and still have plenty left over for another use. I put both jackets in the dryer as per the instructions. When finished, I tested both jackets by dribbling on some water from the kitchen sink and the water beaded up and rolled right off. There was no unpleasant smell either. I would highly recommend this product.

Used both the Performance Wash and XT Waterproofer on a lightweight nylon jacket and a 1980s North Face Gor-Tex jacket. After washing, applying the waterproofer, and drying, both jackets are much cleaner and show significantly improved water beading. My Gor-Tex jacket had lost all of its DWR coating and had no beading at all before application. As other people have said, this product leaves absolutely no smell at all. It does leave behind a very faint waxy feel, which I assume is just the waterproof coating.

Highly recommended for restoring the DWR coating on both Gor-Tex and nylon jackets!
