I forget where I first heard about this product, but after I read reviews of it here and elsewhere, I decided to try it for repairing tears in our gazebo’s canvas roof. This product has far exceeded my expectations. I have used it both to repair tears and to reinforce the seams where the hooks are sewn onto the canopy. It’s held up through sun, heat and rain as well as cold. My husband and I are still surprised!

It is barely visible on the taupe canvas. Additionally, I used it to repair a badly worn and split leather seat in our van. The leather was worn paper thin in spots and we had to take drastic measure to make sure it didn’t come apart. Again, this product is barely visible and it has held true in the heat of a closed vehicle when outside it was in the upper 90’s. It’s also held up in the cold.

This is a GREAT product. One caveat: You can buy it in larger dimensions and longer rolls on the manufacturer’s website for MUCH less than you’ll find it in this retail packaging. When I order more — and I will, along with the formula for vinyl — it’ll be directly through the manufacturer.

Read all of the reviews and decided that we’d give this a try to repair a growing hole in our leather couch…we placed the patch on the underside of the leather so it adhered well and doesn’t show at all. So far it’s holding up very well, despite us putting it under constant stress. VERY happy with this product so far, and we have plenty left over. A great value!

Works on convertable tops too!, September 16, 2009

Did some research on the ‘net and could not find a pure “convertable top patch kit” to save my life! Somewhere I saw someone mention this product so I found it here and bought it, so my review stems from that perspective.

My use was on a 2003 Miata convertible top, (for those of you that don’t know the ’03 model was when the canvas top became available for the Miata. Previously it was only available with a vinyl top) that had a small hole in it (about the size of a pencil tip) enough to drip water on my ear when it rained hard.

Applied product to both sides of the hole and after a month and a half adhesion has been good and I have not seen any discoloration. Applied a larger piece to the underside and a 1″ square on top. It’s noticeable within 5′ but further it is not.

Installation was fairly simple rub area with included alcohol swab then slap on. Good cheap repair for (at the very least) small flaws on convertible tops.
