I hope I am wrong, but America’s abysmal failure to exercise its veto power on March 25th against UN Resolution 2728 may ultimately prove to be a death sentence for many more hostages and civilians in Gaza. Instead of pressuring Hamas to accept a negotiated release, blood-drunk terrorists in Gaza now believe they have the upper hand with international support, many of whom may claim the resolution to be legally binding and enforceable against UN members (but not against non-state actors such as Hamas). But instead of a swift and peaceful end to the conflict, the passing of this short-sighted resolution may have the opposite effect, emboldening Israel’s enemies to use resolutions like this one as another feather in a coalition of the willing’s hat to enforce “peace and security” …
Joel 3:11-12, 14, “Hasten and come, all you surrounding nations, And gather yourselves there. Bring down, O LORD, Your mighty ones. Let the nations be aroused And come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat, for there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations… Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the LORD is near …”
1 Thessalonians 5:2-3, “For you yourselves know very well that the Day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night. When they say, ‘Peace and security,’ then sudden destruction comes on them, like labor pains come on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.”

Is UN Security Council ‘Demand’ For A Ceasefire Legally Binding? – “So what can be done to enforce this legally binding resolution, if one or more of the parties refuses to comply with it? Under chapter VII, there are two main courses of action. Article 41 provides for measures not involving the use of armed force, including sanctions or severance of diplomatic relations. If these are insufficient, and the security council is satisfied the situation represents a threat to the peace, article 42 provides that the council ‘may take such action by air, sea, or land forces as may be necessary to maintain or restore international peace and security’… What happens next will mainly depend on political will. But the passing of this resolution does enhance the possibilities for further action under international law …” Read more.
Turkey: Erdogan Urges Forcing Israel Into Compliance With UNSC Resolution 2728 – “Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called for more pressure on the Israeli occupation to force it into compliance with the UN Security Council resolution on ceasefire in Gaza Strip. ‘Pressure must be increased on Israel, the spoiled and lawless child of the West, for it to comply with this decision,’ Anadolu Agency (AA) quoted Erdogan as saying … Noting that the Palestinians have taught the world ‘a lesson in humanity, dignity and courage through their epic resistance,’ President Erdogan said. ‘We will never hesitate to come to the aid of any oppressed and victimized individual anywhere in the world.’ He vowed that Turkiye would ‘do its part’ … [and] ‘make every effort’ to restore peace and calm in the Gaza Strip as soon as possible …” Read more.
UN Resolution On Gaza Ceasefire Shows Israel Isolation, Hamas Chief Says During Iran Visit – “While Hamas welcomed the resolution, Israel rejected the ceasefire call and vowed to continue its war on the Palestinian enclave. At a joint press conference with Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Haniyeh said the UN resolution underscored Israel’s ‘unprecedented isolation’… Israel has ‘failed to achieve its military goals’ in the besieged Gaza Strip ‘despite heavy expenses’ and is now ‘losing political and international support’, Haniyeh said… Haniyeh also thanked Iran for its support to the Palestinian people, adding that Palestine is going through a critical phase in its struggle against the Israeli occupation, calling it a ‘turning point’.” Read more.
Iranian Leaders Praise Hamas Chief For Turning World Opinion Against Israel As Gazans Die – “Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei fetes Hamas politburo leader Ismail Haniyeh for galvanizing world support for Palestinians and against Israel, crowing that the group’s propaganda has outshone Israel’s attempts to garner international backing, semi-official Iranian media reports. ‘Despite the enemy’s wishes, it has turned Palestine to the world’s first issue,’ Khamenei says, urging that further efforts be invested into building support for the terror group.” Read more.
Hamas Digs In On Hostages After Biden Betrays Israel At UN – “Hamas is reportedly refusing to accept Israel’s terms for a hostage deal and digging in on its demands after the Biden administration refused to veto a United Nations Security Council resolution on Monday calling for a ceasefire in Gaza. The resolution did not require that Israeli hostages be released as a condition of a ceasefire — a requirement that the U.S. had made in previous proposals. Instead, the resolution simply mentioned the release of the remaining hostages. Hamas saw that as a victory — as did nations like South Africa, which is currently pursuing a case against Israel at the International Court of Justice at The Hague, claiming that Israel is committing ‘genocide’ in its war against Hamas.” Read more.
Hamas Leader: Allah Willing, We Will Defeat Israel In The Hostage Negotiations – “Hamas will not release any of the 134 hostages it holds until Israel ends the war, withdraws its troops, allows all Gazans to return to their homes and lifts the blockade on the coastal enclave, the terrorist group’s leader Khaled Mashaal said on Wednesday… The terrorist leader reiterated that ‘in the negotiations, we insist on stopping the aggression, withdrawing from Gaza, returning the displaced to their places, especially in northern Gaza, providing all necessary relief, shelter and reconstruction, and ending the siege. We will not release their prisoners [the hostages] until we achieve these goals,’ Mashaal vowed.” Read more.
