Go on patrol with the best, February 2, 2012

I’ve bought several items from US Military Outdoor & Sporting Gear. This US military modular system green patrol sleeping bag is the latest. It arrived just three days later from the shipper in Georgia. All were the real thing, in excellent condition even when described as used. This item is new.

It is a rather light sleeping bag with a water resistant but not water proof outer material and a insulation containing inner bag. It has a YKK metal zipper usable from both ends. One can, in an emergency, just pull apart the bag material and the zipper will open. The drawstring at the head is easily adjusted.

The label lists it as a 30° bag, wash cold (not over 90°), no dry cleaning, hang to dry after each use. Moisture control is key to staying warm by maintaining the integrity of the dry insulator material of the bag. Made by Tennier industries.

It fits a six foot tall man with boots on. And it is surprisingly roomy. Used with the camo bivy bag it should give warmth and protection from the elements down to freezing or so.

It is light and even without a compression bag it packs to the size of two loaves of bread and will fit in even the smallest backpack (or even a briefcase in case one thinks one might get stuck in an elevator overnight). I have several sleeping bags: two rectangular, and now, with this one, two mummy bags. This one is the lightest and best made but it didn’t cost the most. It should cover most non-winter camping requirements.

For its price (forty to sixty dollars new) it is a remarkable bargain and well worthwhile for the camper, survivalist, prepper, sleepovers, keep in car or truck, issue to unannounced visitors, sleep in the backyard when martial problems arise … the possibilities are just endless.

This bag came to me in great condition and it is a legitimate military patrol sleeping bag; just like the one I was issue in the Army years ago. This is a very affordable light weight solution for backpacking /camping. I would highly recommend this product. Finding the weight for this product is tough to find on the internet; mine weighed in at about 2lbs 6 oz. The delivery was fast.

it only weighs 1.3 pounds. It’s built to withstand the elements. It packs down small. In my testing it is comfy at 27 F when you wear clothes and have it in it’s gortex bivy bag. It is the perfect compainion to your USGI bivy bag and Z lite groundpad. All you have to do is put your poncho shelter up over the head part to keep the dew off and your done when using the patrol bag/USGI bivy bag combo. Let it rain. Ain’t nothing getting through the gortex. As long as you have a poncho as a tarp you can open the bivy bag to get better air. Gortex keeps the critters out. www youtube com / andrewsheldonreeves

In short I LOVE IT! Worth every penny. Actually I would pay more.
